MP Gaurav Gogoi writes to HRD Minister to change NCERT curriculum

July 3: 15th-century Vaishnavite saint Mahapurush Sankardeva and three freedom fighters – Swahid Kushal Konwar, Kamala Miri and Chobibal Upadhyay should be included in the new NCERT curriculum. This demand was raised by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi.

In this regard, Gaurav Gogoi wrote to Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and asked him to make these changes. He also mentioned that he has made a similar appeal before the erstwhile HRD Minister. But his demands were not paid any heed.

Gogoi mentioned that Swahid Kushal Konwar, Kamala Miri and Chobibal Upadhyay played a prominent role in the Indian freedom movement and posterity should be provided an opportunity to know about their achievements.
