Movement of vehicles prohibited in Cachar till 31 March

March 22: In an order passed by Barnali Sharma, Deputy Commissioner cum Chairperson of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Cachar, it was stated that “movement of all public/ passenger transport including auto-rickshaw & e-rickshaw is prohibited all throughout the district of Cachar with effect from 6 AM on 23 March, 2020 to 9 PM of 31 March, 2020.

The notification further stated that the vehicles of district administration, disaster management and those related to emergency health services (both govt & private), army/ military vehicles, paramilitary vehicles, police vehicles, ambulances, goods carrying vehicles and any other vehicles related to emergency are exempted from the above restrictions. Non compliance of the orders will be dealt strictly under Section 51 of Disaster Management Act, 2005.
