Monk of Silchar Ramakrishna Mission appeals to people of Barak to obey lockdown & stay indoor

March 27: When the entire world is busy battling the fatal coronavirus, India government also announced a 21-day national lockdown. However, many throughout the country is seen not too serious about the lockdown and rather is found on the streets on one or the other pretext. Silchar too is witnessing a similar scene. Urban Silchar has perhaps not understood the seriousness of the situation. It is in this context that Cachar District Administration has posted a video in the web page wherein Swami Ganadhishananda Maharaj of Silchar Ramakrishna Mission is seen to make an appeal to the people to stay indoors and not to venture out.

Swami Ganadhishananda Maharaj said, “You all know how the deadly coronavirus is spreading like a wild fire crossing national boundaries. 144 countries of the world are now under its grip. Now, its our country where the virus is spreading fast. Our government has adopted various steps. Indian government has adopted a 21 days national lockdown and urged all to stay indoors and maintain social distancing.”

Swamiji further urged that other developed countries were caught unaware and so they failed to take preventive measures against this virus. Corona has crippled countries like USA, Italy China etc. He said, “In comparison to the west, our health facilities are not to the mark and also we people are not so much health conscious. If we do not obey the orders of the government and do not abide by total lockdown, then this virus may spread amongst us in a very big way.”

Saying so, the Monk of the Ramakrishna order appealed to the inhabitants of Barak Valley to stay inside our houses and maintain social distancing. He said, “In Barak Valley, the health infrastructure is very poor. We have very less number of doctors in our valley. If we do not listen to our government, then this will spread all throughout and then it will be extremely difficult to control the disease at that juncture. So I request all the people of this people to please stay safe inside your houses. By doing this, you you not only save yourself, but also will save your family, society, state and the nation.” He concluded by a prayer to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhangsha so that all could together win this fight against coronavirus.
