‘Modiji, the battle is over. Your Karma awaits you,’ tweets Rahul Gandhi
May 6: Prime Minister Modi attacked Rajiv Gandhi while referring to the issue of Bofors scam while addressing an election rally at Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh, 40 km away from Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s parliamentary constituency Amethi on Sunday. He said that Rajiv Gandhi was called by his courtiers as ‘Mr Clean’ but he had died as ‘Bhrasthtachari No. 1’ (Corrupt No. 1).
Modi Ji,
The battle is over. Your Karma awaits you. Projecting your inner beliefs about yourself onto my father won’t protect you.
All my love and a huge hug.
Rahul

In response to PM Modi’s remark, Rahul Gandhi said that PM Modi was just projecting his beliefs on to his father, Rajiv Gandhi, while adding that such accusations won’t protect him. In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi said, “Modi ji, the battle is over. Your Karma awaits you. Projecting your inner beliefs about yourself onto my father won’t protect you.” He also sent PM Modi love and hug.

PM Modi’s corruption accusations also got a reaction from Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who condemned the prime minister for his remarks. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that PM Modi had “insulted the martyrdom of a righteous and holy man in his unbridled craze”. “The reply will be given by the people of Amethi for whom Rajiv Gandhi gave his life. Yes Modi ji, this nation never forgives treachery,” Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted.
In response to this statement, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) condemned PM Modi and staged protest in front of Rajiv Bhavan in Guwahati on Monday.
