Mob-lynching at Karimganj: 2 people mercilessly beaten on suspicion of child lifters

October 20: Before the uproar resulting from an incident of ‘mob-lynching’ at Nitainagar in Hailakandi district could become cold, another such incident occured on Sunday at Ghuramara area of Karimganj district. Two persons were mercilessly beaten by a mob on suspicion of being child lifters.

Getting information, police from the nearby outpost rushed to the spot and rescued the duo from the hands of the mob. The two persons were sent to the hospital for treatment. The duo were later on identified as Imran Hussain & Sabir Hussain. They were learnt to be residents of Mohakal & Alengjuri respectively.

Investigation by the police is on and the truth behind the allegation of child lifting has not yet been ascertained by the police.
