Wall Painting Drive: Beautification of Silchar Court Compound

January 21: A unique attempt ‘Wall Painting Drive’ was undertaken jointly by the District Legal Services Authority, Cachar in collaboration with District Judiciary, Cachar. This unique endeavour had the generous support of conscientious Art fraternity of Silchar.

With this venture in hand, the walls of the court complex will not remain dull and drab. With wonderful paintings on the boundary wall, the court complex will now be a feast for the eyes for the passers-by.

Participants from various art schools, individuals artists and Fine Arts Department of Assam University took part in this unique drive. The ‘Wall Painting Drive’ which began on Monday will also continue on Tuesday. Paintings related to jurisprudence adorned the walls. Apart from this, scenes depicting ‘Swachhata’, freedom movement, eminent personalities and much more were also painted.

A total of around 61 artists took part in the beautification drive. Municipal chairperson and senior Advocate Niharendra Narayan Tagore was also seen with painting an image of Mahatma Gandhi on the wall.

A large number of people stood there and witnessed the colourful pictures being drawn on the wall. Infact, the legal fraternity apprehended soon the walls of the court premises would invite selfie lovers to get themselves clicked in the backdrop of these colourful paintings.
