Lockdown extended by 1 week in Guwahati

July 11: As the number of positive cases are on the rise in Guwahati, so lockdown has been extended in Guwahati by another 1 week. On Friday, representatives of a citizens’ committee in Guwahati had discussions with the state health department and the Kamrup Metro district administration and sought lockdown extension in Guwahati for two more weeks. However, due to decline in the number of infected people from 30 per cent to 21 per cent in the first phase of lockdown, the health department has requested the state chief secretary to extend the lockdown for one more week.

The lockdown extension order states that “this order shall remain in force with effect from 6 PM of July 12, 2020 and shall remain in force up till 7 PM of July 19.”
