লায়ন্সের অন্নদান প্রতি মাসের তৃতীয় রবিবারLions organizes ‘Feed the Hunger’ on 3rd Sunday every month
শিলচর হাসপাতাল রোডের সাউথ কর্নারের সহযোগিতায় এই প্রকল্পটি শুরু করেছে লায়ন্স ক্লাব। এ নিয়ে রবিবার লায়ন্স চক্ষু হাসপাতাল চত্বরে সকালে মিলিত হয়েছিলেন লায়ন্স ক্লাব অব শিলচর সেন্ট্রালের সদস্যরা। আর এ দিন সকাল ১০টা থেকে গরিবদের বিনামূল্যে খাবার বিতরণ করেই প্রকল্পটি শুরু করেন তারা। প্রথম দিন মোট ৩৩০ জন দুস্থ ব্যক্তিকে খাবার বিতরণ করা হয়েছে। খাবারের তালিকায় ছিল ভাত ডাল এবং সবজি।
ক্লাবের সেবামূলক এই প্রকল্পের সূচনা লগ্নে এ দিন সকালে উপস্থিত ছিলেন লায়ন্স ক্লাবের সভাপতি নীলাঞ্জন গুপ্ত, সজল মিত্র, পবন আগরওয়াল, রাজু চৌধুরী, দিলীপ কুমার কর, সুমিত দাস, সন্দীপ চামারিয়া, রাজেশ চোরারিয়া, সুনীল বরদিয়া, সঞ্জীব বাগারিয়া, সমিক সেন, সোমা দাস এবং অন্যরা। লায়ন্স ক্লাবের পক্ষ থেকে এই প্রকল্পের অধীনে পুনরায় আগামী অক্টোবরের তৃতীয় রবিবার খাবার বিতরণ করা হবে।
September 17: Providing food to the poor and hungry is probably one of the most noble virtue. This noble venture was undertaken by Lions Club of Silchar Central as part of their ‘Feed the Hunger Scheme.” As per this scheme, Lions Club distributes free meal to the poor on 3rd Sunday of every month. This scheme is launched in collaboration with South Corner, Silchar.
The members of Lions Club of Silchar Central assembled on Sunday morning in the premises of Lions Eye Hospital from where they distributed food on that day from 10 in the morning. A total of 330 people were distributed meal, which comprised of rice, dal and a mixed vegetable.
Present during the occasion were President of the Club Nilanjan Gupta, Sajal Mitra, Pawan Agarwal, Raju Choudhury, Dilip Kumar Kar, Sumit Das, Sandip Chamariya, Rajesh Chorariya, Sunil Bardiya, Sanjib Bagariya, Samik Sen, Soma Das and others. The Lions will again distribute food on the 3rd Sunday of October.
