Landslide in Karimganj claim lives of 2 persons, many feared trapped

৩০ আগস্টঃ করিমগঞ্জ জেলার ফতেপুরে অবৈধভাবে মাটি কাটতে গিয়ে এক শিশু সহ দুইজনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। আরও কয়েকজন মাটিচাপা পড়ে রয়েছেন বলে আশঙ্কা করা হচ্ছে। মাটি সরিয়ে খুঁজে দেখার কাজ চলছে। মাটির তলায় আটকে পড়েছে জেসিবি, টিপারও।

উদ্ধার হওয়া মৃতদের আবদুল্লা ও রাসেল আহমেদ বলে শনাক্ত করা হয়েছে। আবদুল্লা টিপারচালক, রাসেল ৬ বছরের শিশু। বিএসএফ, এসডিআরএফ এবং স্থানীয় পুলিশ সেখানে এখনও মাটি সরানোর কাজ করে চলেছে। জেলা প্রশাসনের কর্তাব্যক্তিরাও ঘটনাস্থলে ছুটে গিয়েছেন।

August 30: Two persons including one children lost their lives in a landslide which occured at a place called Fatehpur in Karimganj district. On Friday, landslide occurred when a JCB was excavating soil from a hillock. It is apprehended that a few more persons may be buried under the soil. Rescue operation is still on at the site of the landslide.

Even a JCB and a Tipper are also stuck beneath as a result of the landslide. The deceased were identified as Abdullah and Rasel Ahmed. Abdullah is a tipper driver by profession and Rasel is a 6-year old child. BSF along with SDRF and local police were still continuing rescue operation. Officials from the Karimganj District Administration have also rushed to the spot.
