২৩ ফেব্রুয়ারিঃ কৌশিক রাই এ বার এমপি টিকিটের জন্য আবেদন করতে পারবেন না। রাজ্য সভাপতি রঞ্জিত দাস প্রকাশ্য সভায় শনিবার এ কথা জানিয়ে দিয়েছেন। তিনি শিলচরে আয়োজিত শক্তিকেন্দ্র সম্মেলনে বলেন, দলের সিদ্ধান্ত, রাজ্য বা জেলা সভাপতিরা সাংসদ পদের জন্য প্রার্থী হতে পারবেন না। দলের কাছাড় জেলা সভাপতি কৌশিক রাই তখন মঞ্চেই বসা ছিলেন। রঞ্জিতবাবুর এই বক্তব্যে যে তিনি আহত হয়েছেন, তা চোখেমুখে স্পষ্ট ধরা পড়ে।

আলগাপুর আসনে পরাস্ত কৌশিকবাবুর অবশ্য সাংসদ হওয়ার বাসনা খুব বেশিদিনের নয়। উদয়শঙ্কর গোস্বামীকে সরিয়ে দল যখন তাঁকে দ্বিতীয়বার জেলা সভাপতির দায়িত্ব প্রদান করে, তখনই তাঁর অনুগামীরা তাঁকে সাংসদ হওয়ার স্বপ্ন দেখায়। কৌশিকবাবুও সেই লক্ষ্যে প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছিলেন।

February 23: Kaushik Rai cannot seek the party ticket for contesting in Lok Sabha elections 2019. BJP State President Ranjit Das said so in an open meeting on Saturday. Mr.Das was speaking in Shakti Kendra Conference at Silchar. He said that it is the decision of BJP that no state or district president of the party can seek candidature for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

When Mr. Das was saying this, Kaushik Rai was present in the dias. Instantly, one could very well ascertain from his body language that he was hurt by the statement of the party’s state President.

Kaushik Rai, who lost the Algapur Assembly seat was not initially a seeker of ticket for forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. But when the party replaced Uday Shankar Goswami and made Rai the district Prsident for the second time, that his followers showed him the dream of becoming MP. Mr. Rai was also preparing himself for that goal.
