Junior Doctors’ Association of SMCH to organise blood donation camp on 15 November

November 2: You don’t need to be a doctor to save lives. Your blood can save a life. This unique ideology has driven the Junior Doctors’ Association of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) to organise a Mega Blood Donation Camp on 15 November, 2019. The said camp will be held at the Blood Bank of SMCH at 9 AM.

This Blood Camp is unique in the form that the donated blood units will be marked with an unique unit number and the donor shall be notified through text message, once his blood gets issued to any patient.

Floating the idea, Dr. Dawipayan Deb said, “SMCH Blood Bank is facing acute shortage of blood units and hence during any major incident (as seen in recent times) it becomes difficult to provide blood for the needy.  What if another major incident happens and we are not prepared for it?  I request all NGOs’, clubs and social organizations to come along with their banners and support this noble cause.
