২৬ নভেম্বর : পাথারকান্দির রিক্সাচালক আহমেদ আলিকে দিল্লিতে নিয়ে গিয়ে সংবর্ধনা জানাল সামাজিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক সংগঠন যুক্ত। রবিবার যুক্ত তাঁকে নিয়ে ‘ইচ্ছাশক্তি বিপ্লব সৃষ্টির উৎস’ শীর্ষক একটি মুখোমুখি আলাপচারিতার আয়োজন করে। এই অনুষ্ঠানে মূল আকর্ষণই ছিলেন আহমেদ আলি। তিনি সেই ব্যক্তি, যিনি রিক্সা চালিয়ে করিমগঞ্জ এলাকায় ৯টি স্কুল স্থাপন করে এক উদাহরণ তৈরি করেছেন।

প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদিও তাঁর মন কি বাত অনুষ্ঠানে এই রিক্সাচালকের উদ্যমের প্রশংসা করেছিলেন। গুয়াহাটিতে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সর্বানন্দ সনোয়ালও আহমেদ আলিকে সংবর্ধিত করেন। প্রবীণ আলির সঙ্গে এই আলাপচারিতায় পৌরোহিত্য করেন কেন্দ্রীয় আবগারি ও শুল্ক বিভাগের প্রাক্তন চেয়ারম্যান সুমিত দত্ত মজুমদার। শিক্ষার প্রসারে বিভিন্ন পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করে কীভাবে আহমেদ আলি গোটা বিশ্বের সামনে দৃষ্টান্ত তৈরি করেছেন, তা এ দিন সবার সামনে উল্লেখ করেন সুমিত দত্ত মজুমদার। এই নিম্ন আয়ের লোকটি যে সবার অনুপ্রেরণার উৎস হতে পারেন, তাও এ দিন উল্লেখ করেন সুমিতবাবু।

এই আলাপচারিতা মূলক অনুষ্ঠানটি হয় নতুন দিল্লির ওবেরয় অ্যাপার্টমেন্টে থাকা ক্লাব হাউসে। এর ব্যবস্থাপনায় ছিলেন যুক্তের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ডিরেক্টর সুবিমল ভট্টাচার্য। এতে প্রচুর সংখ্যক মানুষ উপস্থিত ছিলেন। তাঁরা সবাই আহমেদ আলির এই উদ্যমের প্রশংসা করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত থেকে বাংলাদেশের হাই কমিশনার সৈয়দ মোয়াজ্জেম আলি শিক্ষা জগতে আহমেদ আলির এই কৃতিত্বকে সাধুবাদ জানান। তিনি ভাষণে করিমগঞ্জের সঙ্গে তাঁর আত্মিক যোগাযোগের কথাও উল্লেখ করেছেন।

সুবিমল ভট্টাচার্য তাঁর ভাষণে শিক্ষার প্রয়োজনীয়তার কথা উল্লেখ করে বলেছেন, শিক্ষা দেশের ভবিষ্যত পরিবর্তন করে দিতে পারে। তিনি আহমেদ আলিকে সম্মান জানিয়ে তাঁর স্কুলের জন্য ২০ হাজার টাকার চেক তুলে দিয়েছেন। তিনি আগামীতেও তাঁকে সব ধরনের সাহায্যের আশ্বাস দিয়েছেন। সুবিমল বাবু তাঁকে নিজের এলাকায় একটি জুনিয়র কলেজ স্থাপনের পরামর্শ দেন। আহমেদ আলি বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে ৯টি স্কুল স্থাপন করতে গিয়ে যেসব প্রতিবন্ধকতার সামনা করেছেন, তা বর্ণনা করেন। তিনি বলেন, ‘আমার স্বল্প সামর্থে সবার কাছে শিক্ষা পৌঁছে দিতে আমি চেষ্টা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছি।‘

অন্যদিকে, আকাশবাণী দিল্লি তাদের এক অনুষ্ঠানে আহমেদ আলিকে আমন্ত্রণ জানিয়ে তাঁকে সংবর্ধনা জানিয়েছে। এক অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে আকাশবাণী এই গরিব রিক্সাচালকের উদ্যমের কথাও দেশের মানুষের সঙ্গে ভাগ করে নিয়েছে। প্রসঙ্গত, যুক্ত-র ডিরেক্টর সুবিমল ভট্টাচার্য একজন বিশিষ্ট সাইবার বিশেষজ্ঞ হিসেবে কাজ করছেন। দিল্লিতে বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজন করে তিনি বরাক উপত্যকার প্রতিভাকে দেশবাসীর সামনে তুলে ধরার প্রয়াস চালিয়ে যাচ্ছেন।

November 26: It’s an age old adage, ‘Where there is a will, there is a way.’ True to this adage, a humble rickshaw-puller by profession from Patharkandi, in Karimganj district of Assam set an example, which is perhaps even beyond the grasp of many to imagine. By dint of his will power, Ahmed Ali, the rickshaw-puller has set an example by establishing nine schools in his native village in Karimganj. ‘Jookto’ a socio-cultural organisation honoured Ahmed Ali by organising an interactive session “Will Power that created revolution” in New Delhi on Sunday where the ‘humble rickshaw-puller’ was the star attraction.

Ahmed Ali was also referred by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his popular radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat.’ he was also felicitated by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at Guwahati. Further, All India Radio also invited Ahmed Ali in New Delhi and aired his unique contribution. The interactive session organised by Jookto was chaired by Sumit Dutt Mazumdar former Chairman Central Board of Excise and Customs. Mr. Dutt Mazumdar spoke about the necessity of how this elegant step of Ahmed Ali has set a worldwide example in the field of education and why we all should take inspiration from Ahmed Ali to encourage the value of books and pens.

The session was compered by Subimal Bhattacharjee founder Director JOOKTO at the Club House, Curzon House in Oberoi Apartments, New Delhi. The event saw a huge gathering who applauded the exemplary feat of Ahmed Ali for his work. High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India, Syed Muazzem Ali also was present and praised Ahmed Ali for his contribution in the arena of education. He also recollected his birth and close family association with Karimganj.

Subimal Bhattacharjee in his speech shared the importance of education and how it can change the country’s future. Mr. Bhattacharjee felicitated  Ahmed Ali and also presented him a cheque of Rs. 20,000 on behalf of Jookto for his schools and assured him of further assistance in the field of education. Mr. Bhattacharjee futher suggested Ahmed Ali to set up a junior college in his locality. While speaking during the occasion, Ahmed Ali  narrated the multifarious challenges that he faced while establishing the 9 schools. He candidly said, ‘My aim is to provide education for all in my own little way.”

The event is a milestone event for Jookto to promote the hidden gems from Barak Valley of Assam.Jookto is a social-cultural organisation promoted by well-known Cyber expert and the Ex- Country Head of General Dynamics Shri Subimal Bhattacharjee and his wife senior fellow in diplomacy with Observer Research Foundation Dr Joyeeta Bhattacharjee.
