Head, Dept of Education of Radhamadhab College die of brain hemorrhage
way2barak, Nov.24: In a tragic incident, Dr Surat Basumatary, Head of the Department (HOD) of Education of Radhamadhab College, Silchar breathed his last on Thursday morning. He was 46. As per reports, Dr Basumatary died of brain hemorrhage.
As per reports, on 16 November, Dr Surat Basumatary became unconscious at his house. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Silchar (JJIMS). There after doing MRI, the doctors declared that he has suffered brain hemorrhage. He was immediately taken to ICU. But as his condition deteriorated, he was put under ventilation.
In the evening on 18 November, his family members arrived in Silchar and took him to Guwahati, where he was admitted at Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH). There after battling for life for 5 days, Dr Surat Basumatary finally died at 8 AM on 24 November.
A resident of Gohpur in Assam, Dr Surat Basumatary joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Education, Radhamadhab College in 2007. His death has been mourned by the college teacher fraternity.
Dr Surat Basumatary is survived by his wife and a daughter who studies in Class V at Holy Cross HS School, Silchar. As per his family sources, his body will be taken today at his permanent residence at Gohpur.
