Installation Ceremony of Leo Club of Karimganj Centurion takes place amidst a galaxy of Lions’ & Leos’

September 13: Leo Club of Karimganj Centurion, the young brigade of Lions Club of Karimganj Centurion organized a ‘Drinking Water Project’ on last Wednesday in association with the District Social Welfare Department in the “Poshan Abhiyan Rally” to create awareness among the people of Karimganj District about the importance of nutrition for children, adolescent girls and pregnant women.

A total of 600 people were served under the ‘Drinking Water Project’. The Project was sponsored by Lion Akash Bhura, the Past District President of Leo District 322G and a renowned Leo turned Lion Member.

Later that evening, the new Board of Lions Club of Karimganj Centurion and Leo Club of Karimganj Centurion was installed for the Lionistic and Leoistic Year 2019-20. The New Board is headed by:  President Lion MJF Dr. Supama Paul and Leo Sushmita Jain, Secretary Lion MJF Sashi Gang and Leo Hira Paul and Treasurer Lion Soma Banik and Leo Mohit Baphna, by Chief Guest and Installation Officer, Vice District Governor- I, Lion Rajkumar Ringania, in the presence of Chief Guest of Honor, Vice District Governor-II, Lion Subhankar Sen.

The event was attended by the Lion Dignitaries from Karimganj, Tripura, Guwahati, Silchar and Hailakandi. In the course of the event, the new Team launched their very own Club Pins and Club T- shirts.

The then Immediate Past President of Leo Club of Karimganj Centurion, Leo Arjayeeta Paul, presented certificates to all the members acknowledging and appreciating their innovative ideas and projects in the previous year. Leo Hira Paul was awarded the “Leo of the Year” for his outstanding contribution in the previous year.

The next morning marked the official beginning of the tenure the new President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Club. To mark the day, they distributed 200 food packets among the poor and huger-stricken people of Karimganj. The Project was sponsored by the Immediate Past President of Lions Club of Karimganj Centurion, Lion Jayanta Kumar Das.

Along with a zeal to serve the society at large, Leo Club of Karimganj Centurion is marching forward with renewed fervour in them. Youth when imbibes in them the traits of patriotism and social service can really do wonders in making the world a better place to live in. The Leo’s seems to be the embodiment of this thought process.
