Inner Wheel Club spreads smile, spends time in an orphanage at Silchar

August 12: Orphaned children are greatly in need of care and protection, being among the most susceptible to poverty, child labour and child trafficking. To spread smile in the face of the orphans, members of Inner Wheel Club, Silchar visited a Children Home managed and run by Nibedita Nari Sangstha at Meherpur Silchar on Sunday.

The members of Inner Wheel Club gifted the children toys, health drinks, biscuits, immitation jewellery and some such other things of daily use. The ladies of the Club even played games with the inmates of the Children Home. Some of them even sat on the swing together with the little orphan girls.

Infact, Inner Wheel Club under its Project Mamta has pledged to create an “Orphan Free India.” Keeping in tune with with the rest of the country, the Inner Wheel Club of Silchar has also taken in hand various measures for creating awareness in the society so that orphans may soon find a house wherein they will be greeted with love and care.

Jhumki Saha, President of Inner Wheel Club said, “Our motto is-Each one, adopt one.” She further said that, “It gives us a great sense of satisfaction and moral responsibility to spend time with these children. We are trying to create awareness among the society so that people may come forward and adopt the children from the orphanages.”

Apart from Jhumki Saha, the other members of Inner Wheel Club, Silchar who went to the Children Home were Shilpi Ghosh, Sampa Banik, Pinki Das, Madhumita Dutta, Madhuparna Basak, Indrani Bhattacharjee Deb, Debjani Roy and Moumita Gupta.
