Inner Wheel Club Silchar gets 20 awards & star status in District 324

July 8: Inner Wheel Club Silchar has achieved a stupendous feat within District 324 in the year 2018-19 by bagging 20 awards. The awards were handed over to the club in the Assembly of District 324 at Siliguri. We have put in a lot of hard work. Donors have also come out of their own accord and made generous contribution for our cause. We laid special emphasis on teach and Swachha Bharat Aviyan. These were the words uttered by Vandana Sirohia, President of Silchar Inner Wheel Club for the year 2018-19, while speaking with newsmen on Sunday.

Vandana further said that in the coming year, Inner Wheel Club Silchar will work upon orphans and orphanage. Inner Wheel District Chairman (2019-20), Sumita Som was also present in the press meet. She said that the District has adopted a project named, ‘Mamata’ and the mission of this project is ‘Orphanage free India.” She said, “This will be basically an awareness programme. We will try to motivate people for adoption.”

The other members of Inner Wheel Club, Silchar who were present during the press meet also expressed happiness and satisfaction as their Club got the status of Star Club within the periphery of District 324 in which there exists a total of 24 Inner Wheel Clubs. They recounted the services offered by them in respect of installation of 3 pad-vending machines, e-;earning capabilities and making 3 happy schools. They are also the proud recipient of Highest Nation Builder Award in 2018. Apart from these, 6 adult literacy centres were also started and a village named Bhairabi Nagar was also adopted.

Along with Vandana Sirohia and Sumita Som, also present in the press meet were Ritu Agarwal-Secretary of the Club for the year 2018-19, President elect Jhumki Saha, Secretary elect Ankita Ghosh, Past District Chairman Sudha Mundra, Suramita Poddar, Minu Gope, Kalita Ghosh, Sampa Banik among others.
