Imaam of Silchar Boro Masjid appeals all to obey lockdown

March 27: When the entire world is busy battling the fatal coronavirus, India government also announced a 21-day national lockdown. However, many throughout the country is seen not too serious about the lockdown and rather is found on the streets on one or the other pretext. Silchar too is witnessing a similar scene. Urban Silchar has perhaps not understood the seriousness of the situation. It is in this context that Cachar District Administration has posted a video in the web page wherein Imam of Boro Masjid, Silchar, Shabir Ahmed Laskar is seen to make an appeal to the people to stay indoors and not to venture out.

In his appeal, the Imam of Boro Masjid, Silchar said, “I would urge upon all people to obey the lockdown as notified by our honourable Prime Minister. We should not come come out of our house. We should wash our hands and keep our nose and mouth covered. If we disobey the lockdown and come out, then we won’t survive.”

The Imaam also said that this virus has engulfed all the big nations of the world and so we should be very cautious and confine ourselves inside our houses obeying the appeal of our Prime Minister. The only way to save us from this deadly virus is to lock us indoors. He concluded by saying, “As the Imaam of Boro Masjid, I would appeal to all persons belonging to all communities to stay inside your house
