Human chain to be formed on 19 May for release of detainees from Detention Camps
May 18: The detainees lodged in the Detention Camps of Assam are kept in inhuman conditions. Many persons are served D-Voter’s notice in an illegal manner and also many are declared foreigners in ex-parte judgements. Further, certain irrelevant provisions have been implemented as per-conditions for release of the detainees kept in the detention camps. These were the arguments put forward by some conscious citizens of Silchar.
In the backdrop of these allegations, a call to form a human chain is given by a group of conscious citizens of this town. On 19 May, 2019, that is, on the Language Martyr’s Day, the human chain will be formed at Jail Road, Silchar. In this connection, the organisers have appealed before the public to be present near Oriental School on 19 May at 10.30 AM.
This was stated in a Press Release issued by Debabrata Das (Advocate), Soumen Choudhury (Advocate), Samar Bhattacharjee, Joydeep Bhattacharjee, Rathindra Das and Kamal Chakraborty.
