Hindu Samhati light candles & demand arrest of criminals who killed 5 Bengalis in Dhola a year ago
November 1: In a shocking incident, five innocent Bengalis were brutally killed by militants at Dhola’s Kherabari area of Tinsukia district in Assam on 1 November, 2018. The victims were playing the game of ludo besides a dhaba when a group of people in military outfit took them by the riverside and later started shooting at them from point blank range. The 5 who were brutally massacred were Subal Das (60), Shyamal Biswas (60), Abinas Biswas (20), Dhananjay Namasudra and Ananta Biswas (18).
Since then a year has elapsed, but not a single arrest has been made in connection with this incident. This was highly resented by the Hindu Samhati at Silchar. On Friday, the members of Hindu Samhati lighted candles at Rangirkhari point in Silchar in memory of the deceased and raised the demand of nabbing the culprits of this nefarious act.
Speaking to newsmen, the members of Hindu Samhati said, “The state government is not at all serious in nabbing the criminals who murdered 5 Hindu Bengalis in cold blood one year ago. Not a single arrest has been made till now. Even the promise made to the families of the victims have not been fulfilled. The family members of the deceased were promised government jobs, but the state government has not acted upon its own words.”
The Hindu Samhati also expressed deep concern on the killing of two girls by a truck at Silchar recently. They also lighted candles in the memory of the deceased in the accident.
