February 18: Neha Bagdi, a teenage domestic help went missing along with a 2-year old girl child Trisha from the official residence of her parent at Assam University campus on May 5, 2017. Though the baby Trisha was recovered from Kelheriat in Meghalaya on 11 May, 2017, but the domestic help Neha Bagdi is still traceless.

The Cachar Hindi-Bhasi Chatra Parishad has expressed deep anguish at this incident. In a memorandum addressed to Deputy Commissioner, Cachar the members of the Chatra Parishad mentioned that inspite of repeated prayers, the district and police administration has still now failed to trace the girl Neha.

They have further appealed that if Neha is at all connected with the kidnapping incident, then she must be traced and brought to book. But if it’s otherwise than the life of the poor tea garden girl might be in great danger. They alleged that “There is a great conspiracy regarding the kidnapping of Trisha and her subsequent recovery…”

It was also mentioned in the memorandum that the pain of the missing grown-up daughter led to the death of the father of Neha Bagdi. The Hindi-Bhasi Chatra Parishad stated that the entire tea garden community of the district is eagerly waiting for the recovery of the poor girl.

The Cachar Hindi-Bhasi Chatra Parishad urged upon the Deputy Commissioner to take positive action in this regard or else they would be left with no other option but to launch a mass movement from the first week of March 2019.
