Hearing of claims & Objections to remain suspended from 10 April to 23 April

৪ এপ্রিল : লোকসভা নির্বাচনের প্রেক্ষিতে জাতীয় নাগরিক পঞ্জির দাবি ও আপত্তির শুনানি প্রক্রিয়া আগামী ১০ এপ্রিল থেকে ২৩ এপ্রিল পর্যন্ত বন্ধ থাকবে।

সরকারি সূত্রে জানানো হয়েছে, আসন্ন লোকসভা নির্বাচনে যাতে ভোটদান প্রক্রিয়ায় কোনও ব্যঘাত না ঘটে সেজন্য জেলাশাসকদের নির্দেশ জারি করা হয়েছে। অবশ্য এই সময়ের মধ্যে জাতীয় নাগরিক পঞ্জির অন্যান্য কাজকর্ম চালু থাকবে।

April 4: On account of Lok Sabha Election, the task of hearing of claims and objections in connection with the National Register of Citizens (NRC) will remain closed from 19 April to 23 April.

As per a government source, this decision was taken so that there arises no difficulty on the path of polling process. In the regard, the Deputy Commissioners were served a notice by the government. However, it was stated that during this phase though the process of hearing of claims and objections will remain closed, but other works related to NRC will continue as usual.
