Hearing held on complaint of YASE as regards not hoisting of National Flag by St. Vianmey School on R.Day
February 10: A hearing by the Jiten Taid, Circle Officer cum Executive Magistrate of Katigorah Revenue Circle was conducted on Monday on the basis of a complaint lodged by Youths Against Social Evils (YASE). On last Wednesday, YASE submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar demanding a high level enquiry on the issue of not hoisting the National Flag on 26 January, 2020 during the Republic Day by Saint Vianmey School at Tikor Bhurunga under Katigorah constituency of Cachar district.
It is on the basis of the complaint lodged by YASE that the Circle Officer cum Executive Magistrate of Katigorah called the complainants Sanjeev Roy, President YASE, Central Committee and Samsul Islam, President, YASE, Katigorah Assembly Committee for the hearing on Monday. Both of them were also accompanied by Rukon Uddin.
Later on speaking to way2barak, both Sanjeev Roy and Samsul Uddin said that they have put forward their views during the hearing and have demanded exemplary action in this matter. so that such anti-national steps are not performed by any other institution in the future. They also said that this is indeed an anti-national act committed by the school.
Samsul Uddin said that when YASE and many other organisations approached the school authority for knowing the cause of such disregard, the school authorities gave a bizarre reasoning. YASE stated that the authority of St. Vianmey School said that as 26 January, 2020 was a Sunday, so it was not possible for them to hoist the tricolour. This according to Mr. Roy was an excuse which could not be accepted. YASE termed the incident to be an anti-national act for which the administration should adopt drastic action.
