Hard work of farmers will help in doubling farmers’ income by 2022: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said the hard work of farmers combined with the support they are getting from the Government will fulfil the dream of doubling farmers’ income by 2022. Addressing a farmers’ rally at Midnapore town in West Bengal today, he said the government has taken a historic decision of raising MSP of Kharif crops by one-and-a-half times.
The Prime Minister said, farmers have played a huge role in the country’s development. He added that the nation is going through a major change and over 125 crore Indians are tirelessly working towards making a New India.
The Prime Minister criticized Mamata Banerjee government  charging it with “throttling democracy” and running a “syndicate raj.” He alleged that nothing can be achieved without approval of the syndicate.
During the rally, a makeshift tent collapsed, injuring at least 22 people. The Prime Minister saw the tent collapsing while he was in the middle of his speech. He immediately instructed Special Protection Group (SPG) personnel to attend to the injured.
After addressing the rally, Mr Modi went to the hospital and spoke to some of the injured.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi today exhorted that only NDA government could fulfill the promise of raising the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Kharif foodgrains made to farmers.
Addressing a farmers’ rally at Midnapore town in West Bengal, Mr Modi said, his government has taken the historic decision of raising MSP rates by 1.5 times.
The Prime Minister also said, the farmers have played a huge role in the development of the country. He said, the nation is going through a big phase of change and over 125 crore Indians are tirelessly working towards making a New India.
Mr Modi said, the soul of the country lies in farmers and villages. He said, no society can move forward if the farmers are neglected and villages are underdeveloped.
