Green tea and exercise reduces fatty liver issues, reveals a study
February 17: In a study conducted by Joshua Lambert, Associate Professor of Food Science at The Pennsylvania State University, it was stated that regular exercising and replacing high-calorie beverages with green tea can help people who are suffering from non-alcoholic fatty liver. Lambert said, “Combining the two might have health benefits for people, but we don’t have the clinical data yet.”
For the unversed, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease a huge health problem and it will only worsen in coming years. Because of the rise of obesity and Type 2 diabetes, this particular liver disorder may afflict more than 100 million people by 2030.
More research is needed to see if there is a synergy created by green tea extract and exercise working together to reduce fat deposited in the liver, or if the effects are simply additive, Lambert pointed out. At present the research is being conducted upon mice. However, in the near future, research is needed to see if there is a synergy created by green tea extract and exercise working together to reduce fat deposited in the liver. It is only then that this can be applied on human beings.
