১৩ অক্টোবর : একটা সময় ছিল যখন পুজো মণ্ডপের সাজসজ্জা দেখতে মানুষ সপ্তমীতে ভিড় জমাতেন। কিন্তু এখন সে দিন আর নেই। এখন পুজো শুরু হয়ে যায় চতুর্থী থেকেই। বিশেষ করে বড় বাজেটের পুজো কমিটিগুলো অনেক আগে থেকেই দর্শনার্থীদের জন্য তাদের মণ্ডপ খুলে দেয়। আর সাধারণ মানুষও তাতে ব্যাপক সাড়া দেন।

এ বছর পুজোর প্রস্তুতিতে অসুরের ভূমিকায় রয়েছে বৃষ্টি। এজন্য পুজো কমিটির কর্মকর্তারা যেমন অসুবিধায় পড়েছেন, তেমনি সাধারণ মানুষও। তাই বলে শনিবার চতুর্থীর সন্ধ্যায় মণ্ডপ উদ্বোধন থেকে মোটেই পিছিয়ে ছিল না পুজো কমিটিগুলো।

উধারবন্দ হাসপাতাল রোড দুর্গাপূজা কমিটি এ দিন তাদের মণ্ডপ উদ্বোধনের অঙ্গ হিসেবে এক সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে। ফিতে কেটে মণ্ডপের উদ্বোধনী পর্বে উপস্থিত ছিলেন উধারবন্দের বিধায়ক মিহির কান্তি সোম, প্রাক্তন মন্ত্রী অজিত সিং, সাইবার বিশেষজ্ঞ তথা যুক্ত ফাউন্ডেশনের কর্ণধার সুবিমল ভট্টাচার্য, তরুণ সমাজকর্মী জয়দীপ চক্রবর্তী প্রমুখ। পরবর্তীতে প্রদীপ প্রজ্জ্বলন করে অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনা হয়।

প্রসঙ্গত, হাসপাতাল রোড পূজা কমিটি এ বছরই তাদের সুবর্ণ জয়ন্তী বর্ষ পালন করছে। ফলে অন্যবারের তুলনায় এ বছর তাদের আয়োজনে বিশেষত্ব রয়েছে। ওয়ে টু বরাক প্রতিনিধির সঙ্গে কথা বলতে গিয়ে পুজো কমিটির সভাপতি জানান, এ বছর তারা মণ্ডপ তৈরি করেছেন একটি বুদ্ধ মন্দিরের আদলে। প্রতিমা নির্মাণে ও বিশেষ আকর্ষণ রয়েছে। কারণ এ বছর মাটির বদলে প্রতিমা তৈরি করা হয়েছে সুতো দিয়ে। পুজোর বাজেট রাখা হয়েছে ২০ লক্ষ টাকা। পুরো মণ্ডপ জুড়েই রয়েছে উদ্ভাবনী চিন্তাধারার ছাপ।

October 13: Gone are those days when the visitors used to crowd the Puja Pandals from the day of Saptami. Now-a-days, the Puja pandals, especially those with a fat budget do their formal opening much ahead of the Puja. Enthusiastic people start pandal hopping days before Saptami.

Incessant rains this year has failed to dampen the spirit of the Puja committees and also the people at large. Keeping up to the spirit, Puja pandals of various places in Barak Valley were inaugurated today, that is, on the day of ‘Chaturthi’. The Hospital Road Puja Committee of Udharbond also opened their pandals for the visitors on Saturday evening.

A formal cultural programme was organized by the Hospital Road Puja Committee as a part of their opening ceremony. This Puja pandal at Udharbond was inaugurated by cutting the ribbon. Dignitories who graced the inaugural ceremony were MLA Udharbond Mihir Kanti Shome, Former Minister Ajit Singh, Cyber Security expert cum Founder of NGO Jookto Subimal Bhattacharjee and young socio-cultural activist Joydeep Chakraborty.This was followed by the lightning of the lamp by the four special guests of the occasion.

It needs mention here that Hospital Road Puja Committee of Udharbond has completed 50 golden years and so the arrangement this time was a bit special. Speaking to way2barak, President of the Puja committee said that this year they have made the replica of a Buddhist temple. But the most striking feature of the year is that the idols were made up of yarn instead of clay. They have set aside a budget of Rupees Twenty lakhs for the Puja. Further, the President of the Puja Committee has urged upon all to visit their pandal and have a glimpse of their creativity.
