Gaurav Gogoi appointed as Whip of Congress in Lok Sabha

July 11: Gaurav Gogoi, Member of Parliament (MP) from Assam’s Kaliabor Lok Sabha Constituency was appointed as the party Whip of Congress Party in Parliament. Gaurav is the son of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. Along with him Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar MP Manicka Tagore has also been appointed as a whip.

Their main task would consist in assisting the Chief Whip Kodikunnil Suresh in the floor management and other works relating to meetings etc. Taking to twitter, Gaurav Gogoi thanked CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi for appointing him as Parliament Whip for India.
