Gairik Saha from SMCH stands first in MBBS examination

February 13: Dr. Gairik Saha from Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) stood first in MBBS examination, the results for which was declared on Wednesday. Dr. Gairik is the son of Gouranga Chandra Saha, a resident of Das Colony, Silchar and Madhuchanda Saha. Dr. Gairik’s father works with National Insurance Company.

Gairik was a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Silchar from where he did his HSLC and HS. He was also a topper in his HS exam. Expressing her feelings, Madhuchanda Saha, the mother of Dr. Gairik said, “I am very happy at my son’s success. He indeed worked hard to achieve this milestone. May he goes more higher in life and serve the people.”

Gouranga Chandra Saha, father of Dr.Gairik said, “My son was dedicated in his studies from his tender age. He secured 8th position in medical entrance and also topped in HS from KV Silchar in the North East Zone. Indeed I am happy at Gairik’s achievement. I want him to be a man in the truest sense of the term. I have also told him that money is not everything in life. I want him to be a people’s doctor and to help those in need.”

Speaking to way2barak, Gairik said, “I was ofcourse very excited to get this news. Though I did well but did not exactly knew that I would top. I thank all who came in my life in this arduous journey.

It needs mention that three more students of SMCH also successfully made to top 10 in the MBBS. The other three position holders from SMCH are: Abhiraj Paul- 5th position, Prakash Yadav- 6th position and Samujjwal Bhattacharjee- 9th position
