Assam registers 17 more deaths due to COVID-19 on Sunday, toll rises to 655
Sept. 27: On Sunday, Assam registered 17 more deaths due to COVID-19. The State Death Audit Board certified them as Covid-deaths. With this, the death toll of the state due to novel coronavirus has now gone upto 655. In a tweet State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Very sad and anguished to inform that 17 more COVID positive patients have succumbed to the disease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief.” The 17 deceased were identified as:
- Akharam Hague (55), Prafulla Ch Dutta (65) & Sibananda Sonowal (53) of Dibrugarh
- Probin Konwar (61) & Deokan Das (65) of Sivasagar
- Tayabulla Khan (62) of Tinsukia
- Nilammani Bhagath (46) of Bongaigaon
- Jagadish Bhattacharjya (60) & Rajani Deka (57) of Kamrup Rural
- Narendra Singh Goshain (51) & Golap Saikia (47) of Kamrup Metro
- Kanu Krishna Bordoloi (70), Punaram Saikia & Luhiram Bora (65) (68) of Golaghat
- Aruna Baruah (70) of Jorhat
- Sanjib Kr Borah (63) of Lakhimpur
- Mona Malakar (67) of Hojai
