Folkইরা distribute new clothes among poor children during release of their Durga Puja song

Oct. 7: Folkইরা, as the name suggests, is just like ‘old wine in new bottle’. A group of young chaps of this valley clubbed together and created magic. On Thursday, Folkইরা officially released their Durga Puja, 2021 special song on YouTube in a unique programme at Silchar Sangeet Vidyalaya to commemorate their 3rd foundation day. The release was unique in the sense that, the members of this musical band distributed new clothes among some poor children of the town during the occasion. Amidst joy in the faces of the children, Folkইরা released their puja special song. It needs mention here that in 2020, Folkইরা distributed new clothes among some poor ladies and also released a song “Dhake Kathi.”

Folkইরা invited to the dias some of the renowned personalities of the town and provided them the honour of giving away the clothes to the poor women. The guests also released their puja special song. Those who adorned the dias included Sekhar Debroy, Raju Sengupta, Bhaskar Das, Swarnali Choudhury, Raju Sengupta, Monoj Deb, Subir Bhattacharjee and Dr Rajib Kar. The programme was compered by rnowned folk singer Bikramjit Baulia.

The cloth distribution ceremony was followed by the release of their Durga Puja Special Song “Uma Elo Durga Elo.” All the guests present there applauded the song for its melody and unique visualisation.
