এনআরসি-ছুটরা ঢুকতে পারে, আশঙ্কায় মিজোরাম সীমান্তেও গেট বসানোর দাবি
Fearing influx after NRC, demand to seal its border raised in Mizoram

অসমে এনআরসি থেকে বাদ-পড়া লোকজন মিজোরামে ঢুকে পড়তে পারে, এমনটাই আশঙ্কা করছেন জোরাম পিপলস মুভমেন্ট নেতা লালডুহামা। তাদের ঠেকাতে তিনি অসম-মিজোরাম সীমান্তে চেকগেট বসানোর দাবি করেন। নিজে থেকে এই ধরনের উদ্যোগ না নেওয়ায় লালডুহামা রাজ্যের কংগ্রেস সরকারকে দোষারোপ করেন। তাঁর অভিযোগ, সরকার নীরব দর্শকের মতো বসে রয়েছে।

গত ৩০ জুলাই অসমে এনআরসি-র খসড়া প্রকাশিত হয়। আবেদনকারীদের মধ্যে ৪০ লক্ষ ৭ হাজার ৭০৭জনের নাম বাদ পড়েছে। তাদের ঠেকাতে এরই মধ্যে মেঘালয়, মণিপুর ও নাগাল্যান্ড সরকার সীমান্তে চেকগেট বসিয়েছে। জোরাম পিপলস মুভমেন্টের দাবি, মিজোরামেও এমনটা করতে হবে। সে জন্য ১৫ আগস্ট পর্যন্ত সময় বেঁধে দিয়ে তাঁরা হুঁশিয়ারি দিয়েছে, ওই সময়সীমার মধ্যে চেকগেট না বসানো হলে তাঁরা নিজেরাই সীমান্তে গিয়ে এই কাজটা করবেন। মিজো জিরলাই পল তাঁদের সঙ্গে থাকবে।

লালডুহামার অভিযোগ, রাজ্যের দক্ষিণাঞ্চল চাকমা অনুপ্রবেশকারীরা আগে থেকে দখল করে রেখেছে। কংগ্রেস ভোটব্যাঙ্কের স্বার্থে এ নিয়ে টু শব্দটি করে না।এখন আবার অসমের দলছুটরা ঢুকে পড়লে কী অবস্থা হবে, উদ্বিগ্ন তিনি।  নাগরিকত্ব সংশোধনী বিল, অসমের সঙ্গে সীমা বিবাদ, এনআরসি ইস্যুতেও বর্তমান সরকার নীরবতা পালন করছে বলে অভিযোগ করেন মিজো নেতা লালডুহামা।

 

The Congress-led government in Mizoram has to face sharp criticism from Lalduhoma, the Chief Ministerial candidate of Zoram People’s Movement for remaining a mute spectator over the publication of the final draft of NRC in Assam. The final draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam was released on 30 July, with names of 40, 07,707 persons excluded from the list. Lalduhoma raised the demand of strengthening its security along the border on the pretext of an influx of those 40 lakh people into Mizoram. He further stated that other bordering states of Assam like Nagaland, Meghalaya & Manipur have already strengthened their security measures in the borders to prevent infiltration.

The demand raised by Zoram People’s Movement chief Lalduhoma also got strong support from Mizo Student Pawl, state’s apex students’ body who also issued a deadline of August 15 to the state government, failing which they will set up check posts on the border themselves.  Lalduhoma further alleged that Southern Mizoram is inhabited by migrant Chakmas and the Congress is allegedly trying to woo them for votes. He crticised the Congress government of Mizoram for being silent on burning issues like citizenship amendment bill, Assam border dispute and NRC. He was apprehensive that Mizoram will be one of the main targets of those 40 lakh plus population whose names have been excluded from the final draft of NRC. .  Lalduhoma said that his party’s main aim is to save Mizoram from those illegal migrants.
