Facebook launches new tool, users can now transfer all your photos to Google Photos
December 2: It’s indeed a good news for smartphone users who loves to stay connected to social media through their smartphones. Do you have thousands of photos uploaded to Facebook that you’d like to move onto another app or website? Now the social media company will let you do just that. The new image transfer tool will let users copy all their photos and videos from Facebook to Google Photos, and eventually other social networking sites.
Facebook has announced a new data portability tool, which will soon allow you to transfer your media from the Facebook app to Google Photos. The tool will let users bulk export their media instead of having to save and re-upload files one by one. It was built as part of the open-source Data Transfer Project – a technology partnership between major social networking and digital companies designed to make information hosted on one social media service available on other services.
Keeping in mind, the factor of privacy of users data, Facebook says that all data transferred will be encrypted and users will be asked to enter their password before a transfer is initiated. Facebook says it will be refining the tool “based on feedback from people using it”. The new Facebook tool will only be available in Ireland initially, but will be rolled out worldwide in 2020.
