Except govt officials no other NGOs & clubs can do corona awareness: DC Hailakandi
March 21: In a bid to curtail social contacts and quarantining of suspected persons to prevent the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 epidemic, the Hailakandi district administration has prohibited individuals, organisations, NGOs or clubs from entering the hospital premises. The district administration also stated that if they want to distribute or donate anything to the patients, then they have to contact the head of the hospital.
Those who are not sick will not be allowed to enter the hospital while two attendants per patient will be allowed, the order stated. Unless there is an emergency, people will not be allowed inside the hospital premises and they would have to vacate the hospital campus immediately.
Further, the district administration stated that no organisations, agencies, NGOs and clubs can carry out awareness campaigns on Coronavirus except Government officials. All these restrictions have been imposed as a preventive measure to contain the spread of the fatal virus, the order stated. An order to this effect was issued by District Magistrate, Keerthi Jalli on Saturday.
