E-Media News Rockers become champion of BUKSS Media Cricket Fest 2022
March 3: Though a low score match and no element of nail biting finish was there, yet the grand finale of BUKSS Media Cricket Fest 2022 will go down the annals of history. E-Media News Rockers defeated Rosekandy Press Fighters by 6 wickets.
In the final match, the batting line up of Rosekandy Press Fighters crashed like a pack of cards and they could manage to score only 88 runs losing all their wickets in 15.1 overs. In return, E-Media News Rockers scored 91 runs at the loss of only 4 wickets in 16.2 overs. The grand finale began at 3 PM at the Silchar DSA playground. At a time, when the condition of Rosekandy Press Fighters was very critical, Bishal Das came to the field and scored 36 runs out of 32 deliveries, which included 3 boundaries and 1 six. The 36 runs scored by Bishal enabled the Press Fighters to put up a somewhat respectable total of 88 runs.
Raju Nath of E-Media News Rockers took 3 wickets whereas Debasish Shome bagged 2 wickets. 1 wicket each were claimed by Pintu Suklabaidya, Monoj Roy, Dilip Singh, Moksudul Choudhury and Anirban Roy Choudhury. They gave 13 extra runs.
At the end of the 1st innings, a cultural programme was organised by BUKSS wherein Team Dolchut along with renowned folk singer Bikramjit Bauliya performed. The audience was spell bound their songs. Meanwhile, it was dusk and gradually the flood lights started to glow. The grand finale was a day & night match played under the lights for the first time in the 10 years chequered career of BUKSS Media Cricket Fest. In response, E-Media News Rockers seemed to have a cake walk. In just 16.2 overs, they achieved their target and scored 91 at the loss of 4 wickets. Though a low scoring match, yet the Rosekandy Press Fighters put up a brave fight. Their players did superb fielding but failed to have the last smile.

The trilingual commentary by Sudarshan Gupta (English),Sanjeev Singh (Hindi), Debasish Purkayastha (Bengali) and Sayan Biswas (Bengali) made the match much more interesting for the audience.
The prize distribution ceremony of BUKSS Media Cricket Fest 2022 was also a grand one with the gracious presence of Saraju Chakraborty, Vice President of Indian Sports Journalist Federation, DSA President Babul Hore, BUKSS Adviser Taimur Raja Choudhury, Title Sponsor Tara Shakar Choudhury and his mother Gouri Das, Powered by Fiesta Group proprietor Juber Inam Barlaskar, Field in-charge Chandan Sharma, IB Ubadia among others.
The franchise’s of the 5 teams which played the tournament- Rosekandy Press Fighters, e-Media News Rockers, Karimganj Media Challenger, Valley Strong Media Panthers and YASE Khabor Heroes were honoured during the ceremony. Debasish Shome was declared as the player of the match. He also got the awards of Super Entertainer of the Final Match and Man of the Final. The Super Sixer award went to Bishal Das. He also won the award of Super Entertainer of the Tournament. 57-year-old Ashok Rajkumar was adjudged as the Super Senior Player of the Tournament.
Hiralal Sharma Memorial Best Batsman of the Tournament Award went to Anirban Roy Choudhury, whereas Himangshu Ranjan Saha Memorial Best Bowler of the Tournament award was bagged by Sanjeev Singh. Chiranjib Nath got the Best Fielder of the Tournament Award, whereas, Satyajit Suklabaidya was adjudged as the Best Wicket Keeper of the tournament.
Pijush Kanti Das Memorial Man of the Tournament Award went to Anirban Roy Choudhury. Valley Strong Media Panthers got the Fair Play Award. The award ceremony came to a close after handing over the Kali Sankar Das Memorial Media Cricket Fest 2022 Award powered by Fenesta to E-Media News Rockers.
The organisers of BUKSS Riten Bhattacharjee, Dwijendralal Das, Biswanath Hazam, Bedobrata Banerjee, Abhijit Bhattacharjee, Sanjay Roy, Sanjib Singh, Sayan Biswas, Taj Uddin among others were present during the ceremony. The award ceremony was compered by Abhijit Bhattacharjee.
