District Congress submits memorandum to DC on various burning issues

January 13: Silchar District Congress Committee submitted a memorandum to Barnal Sarma, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar wherein they highlighted a number of burning issues, such as, price rise, prevailing syndicate raj, issue of Gandhi Bagh, traffic problem, drainage system etc.

However, they emphasised upon the soaring prices of essential commodities and urged upon the Deputy Commissioner to regulate prices of essential commodities at various markets of the district. They brought to light how the merchants at various markets are charging prices of commodities as per their whims and fancies.

The Congress delegation led by President of Silchar District Congress Committee Pradip Kumar Dey also comprised of former Minister Ajit Singh, Assam PCC Secretary Sanjeev Roy, Vice President Simanto Bhattacharjee, General Secretary Rajdeep Debroy, Seva Dal Convenor Abdul Rajjak, Purobi Roy, Purobi Das among others.
