Free admission for all students from HS to PG in Assam in all streams: Himanta

June 7: In a significant decision, the Education Department of the Government of Assam has declared that all admissions from Higher Secondary (HS) to Post Graduate (PG) level including medical, engineering, polytechnic for academic year 2020-21 shall be absolutely free. Sharing this information during a press briefing in Guwahati on Sunday, State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that under stress due to COVID-19, this step shall be a big relief to the families.

The minister further stated that there will be no hidden cost in the admission process and it will be cent percent free. There will be no kind of magazine fees, puja fees, excursion fees etc. “Even the prospectus will be free,” said Himanta Biswa Sarma.
