DEEO ensures service of cook cum helper for preparation of foodstuff for poll parties in polling booths during election

April 6: The one or two night(s) which the polling parties usually have to stay in the schools earmarked as polling stations are very troublesome, especially they face immense trouble in managing foodstuff at the polling booths. But Cachar District administration has taken a very proactive step in this regard, which would make their stay at the schools much comfortable.

On the verbal instruction of Rajib Roy, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Cachar cum in-charge Training & Awareness Cell, Parliamentary Election 2019, Sumitra Dev, District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO), Cachar issued a letter to the Deputy Inspector of Schools, Cachar and to all the Block Elementary Education Officers of the district.

In the said letter DEEO Sumitra Dev stated that as most of the polling stations were located in the elementary schools, so necessary cooperation should be extended to them during their stay. In this regard, she has urged upon the concerned officials to instruct the ‘cook cum helper’ of each school of the district otherwise engaged in the task of cooking Mid-Day meal, to remain present in their respective schools and extend necessary cooperation with the poll parties in preparation of foodstuff as per their (poll parties) requirement.

The copy of the said letter were also sent to all CRCCs, Head Teacher/Head Master of all schools and the President of SMC of all schools in Cachar district to ensure the services of the ‘cook cum helper’ in cooking the food of the polling team during their stay in the schools in connection with Lok Sabha Election, 2019.
