পঞ্চায়েত রোডে উদ্ধার নিখোঁজ স্কুলছাত্রের মৃতদেহ

৪ সেপ্টেম্বরঃ রবিবার বিকেলে ঘর থেকে বেরিয়েছিল সে। বলে গিয়েছিল, ভিডিও পার্লারে যাচ্ছে। একটু গেম খেলেই ফিরে আসবে।

সেই যে বেরিয়েছিল, আর খোঁজ মেলেনি নবম শ্রেণির ছাত্র দেবরাজ রায়ের। দু-দিন পরে মঙ্গলবার তার মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার হয়। শিলচর পঞ্চায়েত রোডের এক বেসরকারি ছাত্রাবাসের শৌচাগার থেকে। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, প্রচণ্ড দুর্গন্ধ ছড়িয়ে পড়লে খোঁজাখুঁজি করে এক রুমের শৌচাগারে এক কিশোরের মৃতদেহ পড়ে থাকতে দেখা যায়। এই খবর ছড়িয়ে পড়লে রাধামাধব রোড থেকে বাবা গোপাল রায় সহ আত্মীয়স্বজন পঞ্চায়েত রোডে ছুটে গিয়ে মৃতদেহ শনাক্ত করেন। কিন্তু বাইরে থেকে কোনও আঘাতের চিহ্ন না থাকায় তার মৃত্যুর কারণ নিয়ে ধন্দে পুলিশ। প্রাথমিক পর্যায়ে তাদের অনুমান, অতিরিক্ত ড্রাগস সেবনের দরুনই মারা গিয়েছে ১৬ বছর বয়সের স্কুলছাত্র। যে রুমের শৌচাগারে মৃতদেহ পাওয়া গিয়েছে, সেই ঘরে কোনও আবাসিক ছিল না।

পুলিশ ছাত্রাবাসের সিসি-ক্যামেরার ফুটেজে দেখতে পায়, রবিবার বিকেলেই দেবরাজ সেখানে যায়। কার সঙ্গে গিয়েছিল বা কার কাছে গিয়েছিল সে, এই প্রশ্নে আবাসিকদের কেউ মুখ খুলছে না। ছাত্রাবাসের মালিকও সেখানে থাকেন না। তাই আবাসিকদের কাউকে ছাত্রাবাস থেকে না বেরোতে নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে।

দেবরাজের পারিবারিক সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, রবিবার বাড়ি না ফেরায় বারবার তার মোবাইলে ফোন করা হয়েছে। বাজছিল, ধরেনি। কিন্তু সোমবার সকাল থেকেই স্যুইচড অফ দেখাচ্ছিল।

September 4: The boy went out of his house on Sunday evening. Before going, he told that he was going to a video parlour for playing games and will return very soon. However, since then Debraj Roy, a student of Class IX was missing. In this regard, a missing complaint was also lodged at Silchar Sadar Police Station. After two days, his deadbody was recovered on Tuesday. The body was found inside a toilet of a private hostel at Panchayat Road.

Police said that on getting foul smell all around, people started searching and discovered a teenager’s lifeless body lying on the floor of a toilet. When this news spread, Gopal Roy the father of the deceased along with his other relatives rushed from their house at Radhamadhab Road and reached Panchayat Road. They identified the dead body to be that of Debraj Roy.

Police were baffled and were not able to ascertain the cause of his death because they could not find any injury mark on his body. Prima facie investigation led the police to presume that the 16 year old school boy died due to over consumption of drugs. There was no occupant in the room from the toilet of which the dead body was found.

CC TV footage from the students’ hostel revealed that Debraj entered that house on Sunday evening itself. But the occupants of the hostel have kept their mouth closed. So at present it remains a mystery as to whom did Debraj come to meet over there? As such, police has instructed the occupants not to go out of the hostel.

Devraj’s family sources said that when he did not return home on Sunday, he was frequently called on his mobile phone. Though the mobile was ringing but none responded. However, his mobile phone was switched off since Monday morning.
