লিঙ্ক রোডে যুবকের মৃতদেহ, সন্দেহ ড্রাগসের শিকার

২১ অক্টোবরঃ শনিবার রাত ৮টা নাগাদ বাইক নিয়ে লিংক রোড ৩ নং লেনের বাড়ি থেকে বেরিয়েছিল ২৩ বছরের যুবক অরুণায়ন দে। রাতে বাড়ি ফেরেনি। রবিবার সকালে তার মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার হয় সেকেন্ড লিংক রোডে। কিন্তু বাইকটির খোঁজ নেই। পুলিশে এজাহার দিয়েছেন মৃতের বাবা শুভঙ্কর দে।

অরুণায়ন অবশ্য অনেকদিন ধরে ড্রাগসে আসক্ত ছিল। উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক পড়ার সময়েই নেশার কারবারিদের খপ্পড়ে পড়ে যায়। ফলে বিজ্ঞান নিয়ে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক পাশ করলেও পরে আর পড়াশোনা এগোয়নি। দুই দফা রিহেবিলিটেশন সেন্টারে রেখেও লাভ হয়নি। অনেকের অনুমান, অতিরিক্ত নেশার দরুনই মৃত্যু হয়েছে তার। পরে সঙ্গীরা হয়তো বাইক নিয়ে পালিয়েছে। কারও আবার আশঙ্কা, তাকে মারা হয়েছে। পুলিশ এখনই এই রহস্যজনক মৃত্যু নিয়ে মুখ খুলছেন না। ঘুংঘুর ফাঁড়ির ইনচার্জ পরাগ হাজরিকা জানিয়েছেন, তাঁরা তদন্ত করে দেখছেন। মৃতেদেহের ময়না তদন্তের রিপোর্ট এলেই মৃত্যুর কারণ জানা যাবে।

পরিচিতজনদের আক্ষেপ, শুভঙ্করবাবু অত্যন্ত সজ্জন ব্যক্তি। কোনওদিন সিগারেট খেয়ে দেখেননি। তাঁরই ছোট ছেলে কিনা এমন মারণ-মাদকের খপ্পড়ে গেল ! তাঁর মৃত্যু খবরে শহরের অভিভাবক সমাজে উদ্বেগ দেখা দেয়। সোশ্যাল মিডিয়াতেও এ নিয়ে চর্চা চলে সারাদিন। দাবি ওঠে, ড্রাগসের মতো নেশা ঠেকাতে পুলিশকে কঠোর হতে হবে। একাংশ সমাজ সচেতন ব্যক্তির অভিযোগ, ড্রাগসের রমরমা বেড়েই চলেছে। শহরের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলে এ সবের ঠেক রয়েছে। কিন্তু প্রশাসন নিষ্ক্রিয় হয়ে বসে রয়েছে।

October 21: Arunayan Dey (23) went out from his house at Link Road, lane No. 3 on his motorbike at around 8 in the night. He did not return in the night. On Sunday his dead body was recovered at Second Link road. However, his motor bike was untraceable. Subhankar Dey, the father of the deceased has registered a police complaint in this regard.

Arunayan was a drug addict since long. He fell into the hands of drug peddlars since a student of higher secondary. He was twice admitted to rehabilitation centre, but in vain. Some are of the opinion that he died due to over dose of narcotics, while others think that he was murdered and his bike was stolen by the murderers. Police is reluctant to divulge any fact at this moment. Parag Hazarika, in-charge of Ghungoor out post said that their investigation is on. The cause of his death could be ascertained after getting the postmortem report.

Those acquainted with the Dey family are of the view that Subhankar Dey, the father of the deceased is a real gentleman who has never ever smoked even a cigarette, but his son became a drug addict. The news of Arunayan’s death has become a case of concern for the parents of this valley. Social media too is replete with such discussions since yesterday. Demand was raised to adopt stringent measures against those who are in the illegal business of drugs.
