সাতসকালেই যুবতীর মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার শিলচরে

২৫ ডিসেম্বর : উৎসবের সকালে শিলচর শহরের কেন্দ্রস্থলে এক যুবতীর মৃতদেহ উদ্ধারের ঘটনায় শহরজুড়ে চাঞ্চল্য দেখা দিয়েছে। এটি খুন না আত্মহত্যা, তা ধন্দে রয়েছে পুলিশও। কারণ মৃতদেহটি যেভাবে পাওয়া গিয়েছে, তাতে আপাতদৃষ্টিতে এটিকে ফাঁস লাগিয়ে আত্মহত্যা দেখা গেলেও এটি যে আত্মহত্যা নয়, তা মৃতদেহটি দেখলেই স্পষ্ট হয়ে গেছে। পুলিশও প্রাথমিকভাবে কিছু বলতে চাইছে না।

বড়দিনের সকালে শিলচর শহরে যারা প্রাতভ্রমণে বেরিয়েছেন, তারাই দেখেছেন জেল রোডে অ্যাক্সিস ব্যাংকের সামনে যুবতীর ঝুলন্ত মৃতদেহ। শনিমন্দিরের ঠিক পাশেই নালা ঘেঁষে একটি তার দিয়ে যুবতীর মৃতদেহটি বাঁধা। গলায় একটি কাপড় দিয়ে ফাঁস লাগানো ছিল। তবে পা মাটিতেই ছিল। মেয়েটির পরণে ছিল লাল জামা ও কালো লেগিংস। পায়ের চপ্পলটিও পাশেই পড়েছিল।

জনৈক ব্যক্তি রাস্তায় বেরিয়ে এভাবে একটি মৃতদেহ দেখে পুলিশকে খবর দেন। পরে পুলিশ এসে মৃতদেহটি উদ্ধার করে শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালের মর্গে পাঠিয়ে দিয়েছে। তবে এ পর্যন্ত যুবতীর পরিচয় জানা যায়নি। অজ্ঞাত লাশ হিসেবে এটি মর্গে ৭২ ঘণ্টা রাখা হবে।

December 25: Sensation and tension marked the early morning of Christmas day. Dead body of a girl was found hanging in the heart of Silchar town. But police is also confused whether it is a case of murder or suicide. The body was found in such a position that though apparently it seems to be a case of suicide by hanging but a closer examination would rule out the proposition of suicide.

On the early morning of Christmas, those who went out for a walk were startled to see a girl hanging near Axis Bank at Jail Road Silchar (near Shani temple). They noticed that the dead body of a female was hanging by means of a cloth. The body was tied with a cable. However, her feet was touching the ground. A red tops and a black leggings was on the body of the girl. Her slippers were also found nearby the body.

A person during morning walk first noticed the body and informed police. Police came and recovered the body. It was later on sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for autopsy. However, till now the identity of the of the girl is not known. However, this being a unidentified body, it will be kept in the morgue for 72 hours.
