DC & SP visits remote polling areas in Hailakandi to assess ground reality
March 14: With the announcement of polling dates by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on last Sunday, the district administration of all the three districts of Barak Valley were found to be active with their respective teams to ensure a free, fair & smooth poll. On Thursday, Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi J. Keerthi along with the District Superintendent of Police Mahnish Kumar started visiting remote polling stations since early in the morning to cjeck the vulnerability and Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF).
Both the Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi along with the District Superintendent of Police interacted with the local people and motivated them to vote.They also inquired about the hindrances faced by them, if any. The Deputy Commissioner motivated the electorate to vote in large numbers. They also tried to motivate the voters to come forward and caste their valuable vote.
Under the banner of #novoterto be left behind, various remote locations like Betcherra, Shyampur, Aloicherra, Dinanathpur, Lambasil etc were covered by them. In these villages, the DC and SP interacted with the Reang, Rangkhal and Hmar communities.
