DC Hailkandi holds DDMA Meeting to ensure preparedness to tackle flood

June 7: A meeting of the Hailkandi District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) was held on Friday in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner to to ensure preparedness of the district for the flood season. The meeting presided over by Keerhti Jalli, Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, RK Dam, Circle Officers, Arpita Dutta and Tridip Roy, Assistant Commissioner, Rebecca L. Changson, Additional SP and district heads of concerned departments.

The officials of DDMA were asked to remain vigilant during the monsoons so that they can tackle the problems which might arise due to flooding of the rivers. In this connection, many sub-committees were also formed on the basis of the circles. Later on, Circle Disaster Management Committee meetings were also held accordingly. DDMA was also directed to adopt precautionary measures like issue warning to the people living in low-lying areas and along the river banks.
