DC Hailakandi visits historical site of Rontilla, suggests measures for its preservation

February 17: Keerthi jalli, Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi visited Rontilla, a historical site in the district along with Circle Officer Arpita Mazumdar ALRS. Rontilla is the historical place where our freedom fighters were hung by the British during the First War of India’s Independence in 1857, which is popularly known as the Sepoy Mutiny.

The Deputy Commissioner discussed potential for further development of the region. She met with GP President and members of the local management committee and interacted with them about the ways and means of preserving this historical site.
