DC Hailakandi paid surprise visit to District Library, expresses displeasure at way of functioning

February 16: Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi along with Circle Officer Shoma Roy ALRS paid a sudden visit to the District Library and inspected the entire premises for further development. DC Jalli inspected the braille friendly material.

The Deputy Commissioner expressed her displeasure with the current usage of the premises and instructed the Librarian to immediately replace old books with newer and relevant books in classified format. She also instructed to register for news magazines and materials that would help students prepare for competitive exams.

She further instructed the Circle Officer (A) to submit plans for development of the library into a competitive exam study centre with computer facilities and Wi-Fi. She also made an appeal to the senior alumni to donate competitive books to the library like IIT/GATE/ CAT/APSC/ SSC/Bank PO etc. for usage of other students under Project Udhyam.
