DC Cachar announces selfie contest as part of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Parao’ projectবেটি বাচাও বেটি পড়াও প্রকল্পে সেলফি কনটেস্টের ঘোষণা জেলাশাসকের
September 8: As a part of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ project launched by Laya Madduri, Deputy Commissioner Cachar on Saturday, Cachar District Administration has announced a social media contest called #silcharkibeti. DC Cachar also unveiled a mascot for ‘Beti Bachao Beti Parao’, a scheme that aims to empower the girl child.
DC Cachar Laya Madduri informed that they are going to launch a Facebook campaign where people will be asked to upload a selfie or a video with his/her daughter under #SilcharKiBeti. Along with the image or video, they have to write 3 reasons why they love their daughter. The top 3 posts will be selected and will be awarded. Those who are interested to participate in this selfie contest should have to abide by the following guidelines:
- Post a selfie with your daughters on Facebook and mention three reasons why you are proud of her.
- Or else you can post a selfie video with/without your daughter telling the world why you are proud of your daughters.
- Every post must be tagged with #silcharkibeti so that it can be tracked.
- Winners will be decided on the basis of number of likes generated and the quality of reasons.
- Top three posts will be awarded with Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 respectively.
- The winners would also be invited to the launch ceremony of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.’ The entries will only be accepted till 5 PM of 20 September, 2019
DC Cachar further informed that a card would be extended through the Social Welfare department to families having only girl child or only daughters and have no other plans to have a boy child in future. These cards would provide privileges and priorities to them in getting first-hand services wherever there is a long queue for gas connections or paying electricity bills or in any government office.
The year-long ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ campaign, a flagship programme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government will also be implemented in the state of Assam. It can be mentioned here that from Assam, Cachar and Demaji districts have been selected for implementing this scheme.
