Curfew lifted in Guwahati

December 17: After six long days following massive violent protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (now CAA), curfew was lifted in Guwahati on Tuesday morning. The curfew was imposed in Guwahati on 11 December.

In a press statement, issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), on Monday night it was stated that the decision for the complete lifting of the curfew in the city was taken during a law and order review meeting at Brahmaputra State Guest House in Guwahati under the chairmanship of Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
