Covid scare! DSA Silchar to remain closed for all sports & training activities till further orders

April 24: In the wake of the spike in coronavirus cases preventive measures are adopted by both government and non-government association and concerns. It is in this context that District Sports Authority (DSA), Silchar in a notification issued on 24 April stated that its main gate will remain closed from 26 April, 2021 until further orders.

Issuing the order, Bijendra Prasad Singh, Hony. General Secretary of DSA Silchar stated, “In the wake of the increase in COVID-19 cases, complete restriction shall be imposed on all games and sports activities including cricket academy, indoor badminton academy, table tennis academy, walking, running etc. within the DSA, Silchar premises from 26 April, 2021. The order is hereby issued in the interest of public health and will remain in force until further orders.”

However, Bijendra Prasad Singh mentioned that the prize distribution ceremony of Under-16 School Crickeet Tournament of New Oxford School will take place at DSA at 3 PM on 25 April. He urged upon all officials and members to be present during the occasion.
