Corona scare: No newspapers to be delivered in Guwahati from Tuesday onwards

March 23: In a significant move in order to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Newspaper Hawkers’ Association in Guwahati has suspended it’s newspaper distribution services in the city. As per the decision of the Hawkers’ Association, National or Local newspapers will not be distributed from 24 March, 2020 to March 31 March 2020 in Guwahati.

In a letter addressed to the proprietors of the newspapers, Brajen Barman, Secretary of All Guwahati Newspaper Hawkers’ Association wrote, “In the wake of the outbreak of coronavirus, we have decided not to circulate newspapers from March 24 considering the safety of the subscribers.”

Meanwhile, it was learnt that all print media houses in Mumbai have suspended publishing and distribution of their print editions starting today. The information that the virus can survive for some long hours in various surfaces including paper has scared millions throughout the glove.
