Congress poses 6 questions to PM Modi before his Silchar visit

২ জানুয়ারি : বরাক বিকাশ সমাবেশে প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির দেওয়া প্রতিশ্রুতি এ বার বিজয় সংকল্প সমাবেশে তাঁর কাছেই জানতে চাইবে কংগ্রেস। কাল বাদে পরশু অর্থাৎ ৪ জানুয়ারি শিলচর রামনগরে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর জনসভা। এ নিয়ে কাছাড় জেলা প্রশাসন ও জেলা বিজেপি যখন তৎপর, তখনই জনগণের স্বার্থের কথা চিন্তা করে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর উদ্দেশে কয়েকটি প্রশ্ন ছুঁড়ে দিয়েছে কংগ্রেস।

বুধবার শিলচর জেলা কংগ্রেস কমিটি সাংবাদিক সম্মেলন ডেকে বলে, ৫ বছর আগে লোকসভা নির্বাচনের ঠিক প্রাকমুহূর্তে ২২ ফেব্রুয়ারি রামনগরেই দুপুর দেড়টায় এক জনসভায় অংশ নিয়ে এক গাদা নির্বাচনী প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। সেগুলো তো পূরণ হয়ইনি, উল্টে জনগণের উপর নিত্যনতুন খাঁড়া নেমে এসেছে। জেলা কংগ্রেস কমিটির সভাপতি প্রদীপকুমার দে, বিধায়ক রাজদীপ গোয়ালারা জানতে চেয়েছেন, সেই প্রতিশ্রুতি গুলোর কী হল, তার জবাব প্রধানমন্ত্রী কি জনগণকে দেবেন?

তাহলে ২০১৪ সালে ‘বরাক বিকাশ সমাবেশে’ কী প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলেন নরেন্দ্র মোদি? কংগ্রেসের বিবৃতি অনুযায়ী,
(১) প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেছিলেন, বিজেপি কেন্দ্রে ক্ষমতায় এলে তিন মাসের মধ্যে সব ডিটেনশন ক্যাম্প উঠে যাবে। কিন্তু ডিটেনশন ক্যাম্প তো উঠেইনি, নতুন আরও ডিটেনশন ক্যাম্প তৈরি হচ্ছে।
(২) ক্ষমতায় এলে শিলচর সৌরাষ্ট্র মহাসড়কের ৩৩ কিলোমিটার অসমাপ্ত কাজ শেষ করবেন।
(৩) বিদেশ থেকে কালো টাকা এনে প্রত্যেকের অ্যাকাউন্টে ১৫ লক্ষ টাকা করে দেবেন।
(৪) পাঁচগ্রামের হিন্দুস্তান পেপার মিলকে পুনরুজ্জীবিত করবেন।
(৫) শিলচর শহরকে স্মার্ট সিটি হিসেবে ঘোষণা করবেন।
(৬) বছরে ২ কোটি বেকার যুবক-যুবতীকে চাকরি দেবেন।

জেলা কংগ্রেসের পক্ষে সাধারণ সম্পাদক তথা মিডিয়া সেলের চেয়ারম্যান পার্থরঞ্জন চক্রবর্তী স্পষ্ট বলেছেন, কেন নিজেরই দেওয়া এই প্রতিশ্রুতিগুলো প্রধানমন্ত্রী হিসেবে তিনি পূরণ করতে পারলেন না, জনগণ নিশ্চয়ই দেশের প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কাছ থেকে এর সত্য জবাব পাবেন। এদিন সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে অন্যদের মধ্যে ছিলেন সঞ্জীব রাই, দীপন দেওয়ানজি, রাজেশ দেব, দেবদীপ দত্ত, সুজন দত্ত প্রমুখ।

January 2: The stage is all set for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address an electoral gathering at Ramnagar (Silchar) on 4 January, 2019. PM Modi is to kick start the electoral campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from here. Just a day before his visit and addressing the ‘Bijoy Sankalpa Samabesh’, Silchar District Congress Committee convened a Press Meet on Wednesday and raised 6 issues demanding a ‘befitting reply’ from PM Modi.

Partha Ranjan Chakraborty, General Secretary of District Congress and President of the Media Cell of the District, stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi just on the eve of Lok Sabha Polls 2014 addressed a gathering at Ramnagar (Silchar) on 22 February, 2014. During that ‘Barak Bikash Samavesh’ PM Modi made the following electoral promises:

1. If the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power, all the Detention Camps in the state will be closed. However, not a single detention camp has been closed. Rather more detention camps are coming up.
2. If the BJP comes to power, than the unfinished 33 kms stretch of Mahasadak will be completed.
3. All Black Money from foreign banks will be brought into the country and all will be given Rs. 15 lakh each in their bank accounts.
4. Hindustan Paper Mill will be revived.
5. Silchar will be declared as a Smart City.
6. Annually 2 crore jobs will be created for the unemployed.

Highlighting these ‘promises made by PM Modi in 2014’, the District Congress Committee urged upon the Prime Minister to provide a befitting response to the citizens during his ‘Bijoy Sankalpa Samabesh’ on 4 January 2019.
