মাঝ আকাশে দিকভ্রান্ত মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর হেলিকপ্টার, অল্পেতে রক্ষা
CM Sonowal had a narrow escape, helicopter makes emergency landing

২৩ সেপ্টেম্বর : সোমবার বড় ধরনের দুর্ঘটনা থেকে অল্পের জন্য রক্ষা পেলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সর্বানন্দ সনোয়াল। এ দিন সকালে গুয়াহাটি থেকে লখিমপুর যাওয়ার পথে মাঝ আকাশে মেঘের মধ্যে পড়ে পথ হারিয়ে ফেলে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর হেলিকপ্টার। তবে চালকের বুদ্ধিমত্তায় বড় ধরনের বিপদ থেকে রক্ষা পায় এটি।

সকাল ১১টা নাগাদ পবন হংস কোম্পানির হেলিকপ্টারে রওনা দিয়েছিলেন সর্বানন্দ। তাঁর সঙ্গে ছিলেন প্রেস উপদেষ্টা ঋষিকেশ গোস্বামীও। জানা গেছে, মেঘের মধ্যে পড়ে অনেকটা দিকভ্রান্ত হলে পাইলট হেলিকপ্টারটি উড়িয়ে নিয়ে যান আরও উপরে। পরে লীলাবাড়ি বিমানবন্দরে এটিকে জরুরি অবতরণ করানো হয়।

September 23: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had a narrow escape as the Pawan Hans helicopter he was traveling was struck mid-air in bad weather. The Chief Minister and his co-travellers experienced a few dangerous moments as the helicopter twirled three times in the air. The helicopter encountered bad weather conditions near Banderdewa and had to make an emergency landing at the airport in Lakhimpur.

Sarbananda Sonowal and his team comprising of his  Media Adviser Hrishikesh Goswami, his Personal security officer and PA were flying from Guwahati to Lakhimpur on Monday to take part in the inaugural ceremony of Madhabdev University. . While the chopper was approaching its destination, it suddenly was amidst deep fog. Poor visibility compelled the the pilot take the helicopter to around 3000 feet up in the air.

However, it was the expertise of Captain Chauhan and Captain Rizvi, the two pilots of the Pawan Hans helicopter in which Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and his team were flying that saved them from a catastrophe. Hrishikesh Goswami, co-passenger and press adviser to Assam CM Sonowal said, “The pilot had to take the helicopter to a height of 3,000 feet due to deteriorating weather. After staying there for almost 15 minutes, the pilots smartly managed to reduce the height to 200 feet to make visual contact with the ATC. Finally, the chopper made an emergency landing at the Lilabari Airport in Lakhimpur.

Though all on board including CM Sonowal were safe but later, Sonowal and his team moved towards Narayanpur by road.
