While speaking in Majuli, Sarbananda Sonowal elaborated steps taken by Govt for holistic development of the river island district. Sonowal informed that while around 12,000 local landless families were provided land pattas last year, his government would distribute land pattas to around 34,000 landless beneficiaries across state. He said the initiative would not only secure the indigenous people’s right over land but also ensure their protected future.
